AMC’s Preacher series, based on the seminal Vertigo comic by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon, has cast its most pivotal role – the title preacher himself, Jesse Custer. Confirming rumors that have been swirling for quite some time, the part will be filled by Dominic Cooper (the MCU’s Howard Stark).
The news comes directly from Seth Rogen, who’s adapting the book with his This is the End cohort Evan Goldberg.

Cooper joins Agents of SHIELD‘s Ruth Negga (as Tulip), Misfits‘ Joseph Gilgun (as Cassidy) and Rake‘s Ian Colletti (as Arseface – god, I want to know how that casting went).
