How many more casting announcements have to happen before we all just accept that Marc Webb is using Amazing Spider-Man 2 to try his hand at the Sinister Six? With Rhino and Electro already officially set to harass Spidey and rumors abounding that Felicity Jones might share a first name with her character (hint – she’s supposedly playing Black Cat), things were already getting a little crowded villain-wise. But now word’s come in that Dane DeHaan’s Harry Osborne will be joined by his father Norman.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Osborne (who was a constant off-screen presence in the last film) will be played by Chris Cooper.
Wait, they probably didn’t mean Kevin McDonald’s scientist role in Brain Candy. Ignore that. It’s far more likely they meant the noted character actor and Norman Osborne lookalike by the same name.
Yea, that makes much more sense.
If nothing else, Webb’s assembling a hell of a cast (albeit a huge one). Now Cooper’s probably not hopping on a glider in this film, but with a script by Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci there’s no way to know what to expect.
