Here’s the deal – if you don’t like the films of Edgar Wright I’m not really sure why you’re reading a site like this one, so this is probably something you’re going to want to pay attention to. He’s about to finish his Three Flavours Cornetto Trilogy.
The series of films connected by a character buying a Cornetto ice cream began with Shaun of the Dead, continued with Hot Fuzz and will conclude with next year’s The World’s End. Like its brothers, Wright will direct and co-write with Simon Pegg who will star along side Nick Frost.
Here’s the plot, according to Deadline,
20 years after attempting an epic pub crawl, five childhood friends reunite when one of them becomes hell bent on trying the drinking marathon again. They are convinced to stage an encore by mate Gary King, a 40-year old man trapped at the cigarette end of his teens, who drags his reluctant pals to their home town and once again attempts to reach the fabled pub, The World’s End. As they attempt to reconcile the past and present, they realize the real struggle is for the future, not just theirs but humankind’s. Reaching The World’s End is the least of their worries.
And really, haven’t we all had a night out with our man-child of a friend turn into the apocalypse?
